Project Profile
Value: US$3 million
Location: Gulf of Gabes, southeast Tunisia
Area: 1,232 sq. km
Water depth: 100m
Start-up year: 2013
In August 2010 a permit application was submitted and later a two-year Prospecting Permit was formally awarded in June 2011. The permit included priority rights to apply for a subsequent four-year exploration permit.
The Diodore permit extends over an area of 1,236 sq km in the relatively shallow (100 metres) water depth of the southern Gulf of Gabes. The permit is surrounded on all sides by discovered and producing oil and gas fields. It is a very productive region and adds diversity to NZOG\'s exploration portfolio through access to lower risk opportunities.
NZOG\'s work programme during the two-year Prospecting Permit period is focused on processing and analysing existing data and acquiring 350km of new 2-D seismic data.
