Project Profile
Value: US$150 million
Start-up Year: 2013
Location: Blocks A & E, Oblast
Area: 13,000 km2
Blocks A and E are to add proven reserves, production and cash flow while drilling more expensive and potentially higher impact deep tests in all three of its licence areas.
Three more drillable prospects have been established. The post-salt prospects in Block E – Dossor North West, Eskene North and Balchonas West.
East Alibek:
152 km of 2D seismic was completed at the end of November 2005. The processing of the good quality data has been finalised and the interpretation is ongoing, alongside that of old data which will be incorporated as it is obtained from the relevant authorities. Maps have been prepared based on the completed gravity and magnetic surveys and complex interpretation has been initiated.
A&E Blocks
In the shallow zones on A&E Blocks, 898 km of high-quality 2D seismic has been shot. A total of 1,074 km 2D seismic shoot is planned and the programme should be completed by mid-February 2006. Maps have been prepared based on the completed gravity and magnetic surveys and complex interpretation, including seismic lines, have been initiated. There are 14 possible candidate fields for re-entry and two have been identified by the company\'s technical staff as particularly promising. Max is targeting production from re-entered wells by Q2 2006.
The company has also identified 13 named leads for shallow exploration drilling and a decision on which of these to drill first will be made by early April 2006.
Sagiz West
In 2015 Sagiz West production had been shut-in pending regulatory permission to proceed to TPP and total production was approximately 3,100 bopd, which was being delivered on a non-cash basis as settlement towards the Max Petroleum\'s domestic crude oil sales prepayment liability.
