The 2/12-1 Freja was proven in 1986, close to the border between the Danish and Norwegian sectors. The water depth in the area is 70 metres. The reservoir is in Upper Jurassic sandstones. The reservoir is found at a depth of around 4,900 metres and contains oil and associated gas. The 2/12-1 Freja is located in a complex geological area between Fedagraben in the west and Gertrudgraben in the east. It is expected that the reservoir is divided into separate fault blocks.
