Project Profile
Value: US$150 Million
Reserves: unknown
Startup Year: 2015
Water Depth: 344 metres
The project will see the exploration drilling of a new discovery with the 6507/07-14S (Zidane-1) exploration well. The well was drilled to a vertical depth of 4,477 metres below the sea surface, and it was terminated in the Tilje formation in the Lower Jurassic. The water depth at the site is 344 metres. The well encountered gas in a 150 metre column in the Fangst group. The preliminary estimates of the size of the discovery range between 176 and 635 billion cubic feet (bcf) of recoverable gas. The well test produced 42.3 mmscf/d of gas per day on a 36/64 inch choke. The discovery is found 15 kilometres North West of the Heidrun field and 35 kilometres south of the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea. It is expected that the discovery will be developed using nearby existing infrastructure.
