CPC Corp. signed an exploration contract with the Chad government in January 2006, gaining access to its three oil reservoirs. Benoy-1 is CPC’s first oil discovery in the country after investment of approximately US$42.76 million.
The Benoy-1 exploration well drilled a low side fault closure and test flowed oil at a calculated rate of over 2,000 bpd from lower Cretaceous fluvial/deltaic sands.
Taiwanese CPC (OPIC) expects net profits of $1.6 billion after a $42.76 million investment.
