The project will see construction of a 10 million tonne per year oil terminal in the village Kuryk in Kazakhstan. The capacity may be increased to 20 million tonnes at a later date. The site, 76 kilometers south of the country\'s main seaport of Aktau, is already a natural harbor. KazMunaiGas, Kazakhstan looks to link-up to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline through this new port. The Kuryk seaport is due to be operational by the time the Kashagan oilfield goes into production by 2007-2008.
