The Satpayev block is estimated to contain recoverable resources of 1.6 - 2 billion barrels of oil (253 million tonnes of equivalent fuel). The peak output of 287,000 b/d is envisaged by 2020 and could last nine years. The Satpayev block is located in water depths of five to10 meters in the northern part of the Caspian Sea and comprised of three structures: Satpayev, Satpayev East and Karina. The centre of the block is 90 km away from the coast. The 1,582 sq km Satpayev block is situated in the Pre-Caspian Basin of Kazakhstan.
