The Abai and Isatai oil fields are located in 40-50 km northwest of the Buzachi peninsula, Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan. The estimated reserves of the two fields are at 1.2 billion tonnes (9 billion barrels) of oil (probable). These two fields are considered to be promising as they sit on the fringes of larger structures such as Kashagan, Kalamkas and Khvalynskoye.
