The Zhana Makat Field’s average daily production of approximately 2,100 bopd for the four months ended 31 July 2010. The Field has been on commercial production under a TPP since August 2007. In the year ended 31 March 2010, the company drilled two successful development wells in the Zhana Makat Field prior to commencing the company\'s post-salt exploration programme in January 2010. In August 2010, the group successfully completed the ZMA-A15 development well, encountering 30 metres of net oil pay including 12 metres in the proven Jurassic section and 18 metres in a secondary, exploratory Triassic objective.
In October 2014 the right to appraise a geological feature that could extend Zhana Makat field was granted. However, in March 2015 Max Petroleum admitted that it had been notified that its operational bank accounts in Kazakhstan would be suspended as a result of non-payment of sums owed to the Kazakh tax authorities. As a result of the demobilisation of the Company\'s workover rig, due to non-payment of invoices, production had been impacted by the failure of one producing well at Zhana Makat, representing a loss of approximately 170 bopd.
