Project Profile
Location: 4km west of the producing Teal field
Water Depth: 290 ft
Target Depth: -10,300 ft
P50 Prospective Resources: 15.5 MMbbl (unrisked and risked)
Licence Relinquishment: 19 June 2013
The West Teal Discovery well (1991) encountered an oil column of up to 140 ft (37 API, with no clear OWC). Mapping indicates potential for sizeable volumes (estimated prospective resources of 15.3 mmbo as a mean case) trapped both structurally and stratigraphically.
The highly productive Fulmar Sandstone fairway on the Western Platform has been well established for over 35 years, with upper shoreface/shallow marine shelf sands occuring in a series of salt and fault induced half graben and turtle structures developed in response to Zechstein salt movement.
