The Nooks Farm accumulation was discovered by Shell in 1982, with the Nooks Farm-1A well encountering gas bearing sandstones of Carboniferous age at a depth of 430m relative to sea level.
In January 2014, the project was granted an Environmental Permit followed by Permission for Development from Staffordshire County COuncil in April 2015.
Alkane Energy commenced civil works to reinstate the wellsite in July 2016.
