In 2010, RWE Dea Norge was awarded three promising licences in the APA 2010 licensing round by the Norwegian Ministery of Petroleum and Energy, of which one is in the North Sea and two are in the Norwegian Sea. Licence PL 589, Blocks 6406/2 and 6406/5, RWE Dea Norge was awarded 30% as partner. This licence is seen as a follow-up of the recent Zidane gas discovery made by RWE Dea Norge as operator in summer 2010.
