Project Profile

Project value: US$460.32 million (3,906 million NOK)
Location: Production licence 159B, 16 km southwest of Norne, Norwegian Sea
Water depth: 370m
Recoverable reserves: 6.78 billion cubic metres of gas
Start-up year: 19 March 2009

The Alve gas, condensate and oil field is developed as a subsea satellite field tied back to the Norne field\'s production vessel. It is a standard subsea template with four well slots and two production wells. Gas will be exported through the pipeline systems established at Norne to the Åsgard Transport System and further to Kårstø for export. Expected maximum gas production is roughly 4 million cubic metres of gas per day.

The find led to the discovery of the Norne oil and gas field which was proven in 1992 and brought on stream in 1997. Output from Alve and other finds in the area will extend Norne\'s lifetime from 2016 to 2021.

The field embraces the Garn, Not Ile and Tilje formations. The proven reserves lie in Garn and Not. The good quality reservoir lies at a depth of about 3,600 metres and is produced by pressure depletion.
