Reserves: 150 million barrels and 6.94 bcm (Andrew)
Peak production: 80,000 bpd (Andrew)
Water Depth: 117m
Discovery Year: June 1974
Start-up year: 1996 (Andrew) and September 2017 (Arundel)

Located approximately 230 km northeast of Aberdeen on Blocks 16/27a and 16/28 is the Andrew field, spanning an area of 6,672 acres (27 sq km).

In a water depth of 116 metres, BP discovered Andrew in June 1974, and ConocoPhillips confirmed the western area of the field in 1975. Andrew\'s reservoir lies at a depth of 2,430 m below sea level and is contained within the Palaeocene age. Estimated to contain 150 million barrels and 6.94 bcm (245 bcf) of associated gas, Andew has a design life of 19 years. Twelve horizontal production wells and one gas re-injection well were originally drilled to tap the reservoir.

The Andrew Area Development (AAD) project was sanctioned in 2011. The objective was to develop the hydrocarbon resource in the Kinnoull and Arundel fields.

Arundel field

Arundel field is located 15 km north of the Andrew platform in the central North Sea. It is expected to contain around 5 million barrels of oil recoverable. The Arundel development was first discovered in 2000, with an appraisal carried out in 2009. BP sanctioned the project in April 2016 and its field development plan was approved in July, paving the way for a difficult and technically complex drilling process. Access and exploitation was difficult because of the field\'s thin oil column and variable amounts of sand in the reservoir. Arundel started production in September 2017.

Kinnoull field (available separately on POGP system)

Kinnoull lies approx. 25 km northeast of the Andrew platform in the UKCS Block 16/23a at a water depth of 103 m.
