Project Profile

Value: US$4,209 million
Location: 120 km west of Shetland, UK
Start-up Year: Q4 2014
Reserves: 988 billion ft³
Water Depth: 600 m

The Laggan field lies some 120 kilometres west of Shetland and has water depths of 600 metres. The Tormore discovery lies in block 205/5a in water depth of about 610 metres, some 100 kilometres North West of the Sullom Voe Terminal on the Shetland Islands. This discovery lies 15 kilometres south west of Laggan. The Laggan and Tormore fields have estimated recoverable reserves of 988 billion cubic feet and are expected to reach a peak production rate of 494 million cubic feet per day.

The plan includes two six-slot templates, the SPS, two 143km 18-inch flowlines doing a loop, and two lengths of 234km of 30-inch export pipeline to a processing plant at Sullom Voe on the Shetland Islands, plus a 222km dry gas export line from Sullom Voe to the FUKA pipeline. The plan will also see 4 wet gas tees added to the pipelines so that in the future third parties will be able to tie-in satellite projects to the system. Phase I will see four development wells drilled at Laggan and two at Tormore; Phase II will see one well drilled on each field. These will be developed via two, 18-in, multiphase flowlines to Shetland, where the product will be processed onshore and transported, via a new gas pipeline, from the island to the Frigg infrastructure and onwards to St Fergus. Condensate and gas will then be separated and exported by tanker to Sullom Voe. The field life is expected to be 30 years.
