Project Profile

Estimated Value: US$207 Million
Start-up Year: 2011
Capacity: 190,000b/d
Location: Godorf, Germany

This project is expected to connect two existing refineries in Godorf and Wesseling, Germany. If this is achieved, Shell is expected to create the largest refinery in Germany: The Rheinland Refinery.

The first phase of the project will include the modification of process units (desulphurisation and hydrogen manufacturing), as well as the construction of new facilities in the Wesseling refinery.

The units at Wesseling will also be used for the desulphurization of gas oil produced in Godorf. Through this investment, Shell will increase its production capacity of low sulphur gas oil.

Operators:

Royal Dutch Shell: Operator with 100% interest

Contractors:

Technip: EPC contract

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.: EPCM services. The scope included piping tie-ins, instrumentation, steel structures, pump stations, and other infrastructure components.
