The Bangchak Oil Refinery is situated alongside the Chaopraya River, which flows through the Thai capital Bangkok. The refinery was commissioned in 1964. For over 40 years it has been refining petroleum products and is one of the most prominent energy providers in Thailand. The refinery mainly produces liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, gasohol E10, E20, E85, jet fuel, PowerD (High Speed Diesel) and Fuel oil. The refinery includes following refining units :
1. Atmospheric Distillation
2. Hydrocracker
3. Hydrogen Unit -
4. Diesel Hydrotreater
5. Isomerisation Unit
6. Sulphur Recovery
To enact environmental protection measures and to improve the quality of petroleum products, the Product Quality Improvement Project is introducing state-of-the-art equipment including a hydrocracker. This project was undertaken in partnership with CTCI, Taiwan\'s largest engineering company. This project included the revamping and expansion work of its existing plant units with processing capacity 120,000 BPSD, and 6 new units (Hydrocarbon Complex with capacity 25,000 BPSD).
