Kutubdia LNG Regasification Terminal is located in Kutubdia Island, Bangladesh. The terminal, expected to be completed by 2021 will have a capacity to handle 7.5 million metric tonnes of the chilled fuel per year. The project envisions future expansion and can be used to supply LNG through small barges and LNG trucks to users which are not connected by gas grid. India’s Petronet has signed a heads of agreement with Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (PetroBangla) for the construction of an LNG project in Bangladesh. The agreement follows a memorandum of understanding the two companies have signed in December 2016 for the construction of a US$950 million LNG terminal at Kutubdia Island. Under the MoU the two companies will also develop a pipeline to transport the regasified LNG.
