The Bontang Refimnery is located in Bontang, East Kalimantan in Indonesia. The project is currently under construction and the projects owner, PT Pertamina is awaiting official assignment. The project is estimated to require about US$14.5 billion worth of investment and is one of the Indonesian government\'s ten priority projects. However, Pertamina is currently struggling to find investors for the project. With the construction of this project, Indonesia aims to reduce its dependence on imported crude and fuel oil. Once constructed the project will be able to produce fuel at the minimum of 235 thousand barrels per day.
