Location: Jafrabad, Amreli District, state of Gujarat, India
Capacity: 5 MM tons per annum (MTPA) (intention to expand to 10 MTPA)
Start-up: 2019 (the first FSRU)

The Jafrabad LNG Port will be a 5 MM tons per annum (MTPA) LNG receiving terminal, with one jetty-moored floating, storage, and regasification unit (FSRU). There is a firm intention to expand the terminal to 10 MTPA, through the deployment of a second FSRU. The operators have secured all necessary permitting for the project and the concession agreement is ready for execution. Operators Swan Energy and Exmar are in negotiation with EPC contractors for the breakwater, jetties, topsides, and onshore receiving facilities. The final investment decision is planned for the first half of 2016. Heads of agreements are in place for an initial 4.5 MTPA regasification capacity, over a period of 20 years. Detailed negotiations are in progress with the four users: Indian Oil Corp. Ltd., Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd., and the Gujarat State Petroleum Corp. Ltd.

Operators:

Swan Energy: Joint operator with 51% interest

Exmar: Joint operator with 38% interest

GSPC: 11% interest


Contractors:

Greystoke Marine Management: Marine and LNG consultancy services

Hyundai Heavy Industries: Contracted to build a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

Black & Veatch: Selected to deliver critical elements for Jafrabad FSRU.

National Marine & Infrastructure India Private (NMIIPL) : Contracted for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work.
