The Kanowit field is located 200 kilometres offshore Bintulu, East Malaysia, at a water depth of approximately 80 metres. The field will contain PETRonAS first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (PFLNG1) facility. The PFLNG1 vessel, which will produce 1.2 million tonnes of LNG per year, will play a significant role in PETRONAS’ efforts to unlock gas reserves in Malaysia\'s remote and stranded fields to help meet the growing demand for gas. The FLNG facility will be stationed on the Kanowit gas field, 180 kilo metres offshore Sarawak, with capacity to produce 1.2 MM tons/yr of LNG. A 3.2 kilometre long flexible flowline will connect between the existing KAKG-A central processing platform in the Kanowit field to the PFLNG1 riser; which will be installed by Technip. It also includes modification and tie-in works at KAKG-A. The installation campaign is scheduled for completion in late 2015.
