MD-4 Block is located in the Moattama-South Andaman Basin, approximately 230 kilometres from the coast, and west of the Yetagun gas field operated by Petronas Myanmar in M12, M13 and M14. MD-4 block covers an area of 5,900 square kilometres in water depths ranging from 1,500 to 2,200 metres. The contract for the block is set for two years, followed by an exploration period of six years, subdivided in 3 phases. The Joint Venture is between MD-04 Block the operator with an 80% participating interest through Eni Myanmar B.V, and Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation Limited who has the remaining 20%. During the initial period, Eni signed up to collecting a 2D seismic survey, which was finished in June 2016.
