Project Profile
Value: US$500 million
Location: Offshore Nigeria, Gulf of Guinea
Water Depth: 1,100 metres
Start-up Year: August 2014
Peak Production: 40,000 boepd
The Bonga Northwest field will be developed as a 14km subsea tie-back to main Bonga FPSO. The project will include subsea production and water injection development wells with modification works on the Bonga FPSO to facilitate tie-in. In-field flowlines will connect the wells to the existing production manifold.
Bonga North West extracts oil from four production wells and two water injectors. It was expected to produce 40,000 boepd at peak, pumped through a purpose-built subsea pipeline to the existing FPSO at Bonga.
In December 2015, Bonga North West was named Engineering Project of the Year at the Platts Global Energy Awards in New York. It placed second in the IPTC’s Project Integration Excellence Award in Doha.
