Location: Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, Japan
Capacity: 13,5 million tons/annum & 273,500 bbl/day

KASHIMA OIL CO is the owner of the 13,5 million tons/annum & 273,500 bbl/day Kashima Refinery, a large medium complex refinery, producing modern specification fuels. Refining Units included in the project include:

• Atmospheric Distillation - 273,500 bpd
• Vacuum Crude Oil Distilltion - 42,000 bpd
• Catalytic Cracking 35,500 bpd
• Catalytic Reforming 22,000 + 8,500 bpd
• Naphtha Desulfurisaton 23,000 bpd
• \"FCCG Desulfurisation\" 26,000 bpd
• Middle Distillate Desulfurisation 117,000 bpd
• Direct Desulfurisation 30,000 bpd
• Indirect Desulfurisation 25,000 bpd

The refinery produce LPG, naphtha, gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene Diesel, fuel oil, asphalt, sulphur and paraxylene. Currently there is an expansion project taken place in the Kashima Refinery Project and is designed to increase refining depth and reduce heavy products which is scheduled to be completed by fourth quarter of 2015. The refinery is located in Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo in Japan and was set back in operation by the end of October 2012, as it has been running at 60%-70% of its capacity because of the insufficient berths after the March 11th 2011 earthquake and tsunami damaged many of them. JX Nippon Oil and Energy (JX Corp) is operating the refinery through its 100% owned subsidiary, Kashima Oil Co.
