Project Profile
Value: US$100 Million
PMean GIIP: 30.8 bcf (870 mcm), 2P Reserves: 1.94 bcf (50 mcm) (2018)
Gross Production: 4-5,000 boepd
Start-up Year: first quarter of 2015
The KN-1 well is found on the Songo-Songo Island; approximately 3 km from the processing facilities operated by Songas, from where a 12 inch (305 mm) subsea pipeline makes a landfall on the Tanzanian coast and then connects to a 16 inch (406 mm) pipeline which carries gas approximately 200 km to Dar es Salaam. The Kiliwani North discovery is thought to contain an estimated 45 Bcf. The untested gas logged in the Nyuni-1 well has led Aminex to give a contingent P2 resource figure of 208 Bcf. Nyuni Island is 10km from the pipeline terminal at Songo Songo Island. A new reserves evaluation study took place on May 2015, estimating that the field holds Probable Mean Gas Initially in Place (GIIP) of 44 BCF (gross) of which 28 BCF (gross) booked as Contingent Resources (Best Estimate, 2C).
The power generation system and other auxiliary facilities at Kiliwani North have been completed and commissioning of the gas plant and sub-sea pipeline commenced on 4 April 2016.
Gas production from the Kiliwani North-1 well in Tanzania reached 30 mmcf per day (approx. 5,000boepd) with stable pressure recordings at that rate. (July, 2016)
