Project Profile
Location: South Sumatra, Indonesia
Reserves: 65 million barrels of OOIP
Area: 45 square kilometres
Mirach Energy is licensed to produce oil at the Kampung Minyak Field in South Sumatra, Indonesia for 15 years under a KSO (Joint Operation Agreement) with Pertamina. The field covers 45 square kilometres with 65 million barrels of OOIP mainly located in the reservoir formation between 200-500 metres. The company is partnering Daqing Enterprise International, a subsidiary of PetroChina Daqing Oilfield Company Limited, to rejuvenate the field and enhance production rates.
The KM oilfield currently has 290 existing oil wells, where 15 wells had been reopened for testing that saw only an average of 1.8 barrels of production per well per day. This production per well is largely a result of the heavy clogging of the well bores and oil layers due to the reservoir formation made up of large void channels that attracted sand accumulation.
