Project Profile

Value: Undisclosed
Location: Luntai County in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Tarim basin, northwest China
Production: approximately 3 million cubic metresof gas and annual condensate over 30,000 metric tonnes
Reserves: 22.1 billion m3
Start-up Year: 2014

The Tuzi Gas Field is located in Luntai County in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at the Tarim basin in northwest China. This project has a gas in place reserve of approximately 22.1 billion m3. The National Development and Reform Commission officially approved the Overall Development Plan for the onshore Tuzi Luoke Gas Field on December 31, 2012. The Tuzi Gas Field is jointly developed by the group’s wholly owned subsidiary, Win Business Petroleum Group and China National Petroleum Corporation.

The Tuzi Field was discovered in 1999 by CNPC. Gas is reservoired less than 2,000 metres below the surface of the earth. The group signed the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for Tuzi Development Project in Beijing on 11 August, 2009. Under the terms of PSC, Brightoil Petroleum and CNPC proportionally recover paid costs. The group and CNPC have the participating interest in the jointly controlled operation of 49% and 51% respectively. The Tuzi Gas Field can be developed together with the Dina 1 Gas Field, which is also located in Xinjiang, creating economies of scale and synergies that will result in improved efficiencies associated with the daily operations of these two projects.

Brightoil Petroleum has appointed CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company as the main contractor for construction work related to the development of Tuzi gas field at the Tarim basin in northwest China\'s Xinjiang Autonomous Region. CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering is a subsidiary of state-owned China National Petroleum Corp. The contract signed by Brightoil and CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering covers drilling of up to 14 new wells, the construction of all necessary roads and bridges, drilling pads and pipelines, gas production and gathering facilities, as well as connecting the gas field to the gathering facilities. In 2015, the natural gas daily production of the Tuzi Luoke and Dina 1 projects were approximately 1.82 million cubic metres and 1.18 million cubic metres respectively. The total actual natural gas daily production of the two projects has increased to approximately 3 million cubic metres, and the annual condensate production to over 30,000 metric tonnes.
