CNOOC Ltd has pushed the button to launch production at a pair of oilfields in the Pearl River Mouth basin of the South China Sea. The Linhua 4-1 field, being developed using a subsea production system, has been brought onstream in a water depth of about 268 metres and is expected to reach peak output already in 2013. CNOOC Ltd, a subsidiary of state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation, operates the field with a 100% interest.
