Project Profile
Value: US$750 million
Location: North of the offshore Area-1 block, Rovuma Basin, Mozambique
Area: 260 sq km
Recoverable reserves: 17-30 tcf (30-50 tcf in-place reserves of gas)
Production: 100 - 200 million cf/d of gas
Start-up year: 2018
The complex is located in the area-1 of the Rovuma Basin Offshore Mozambique.
The Windjammer well has hit more than 169m of natural gas pay in high quality reservoir sands over a gross column of more than 366m. The discovery lies 48km off the coast in 1,463 metres of water. Ironclad, located 110km south of Windjammer, has reported positive results for oil at 5,100m.
Barquentine, located 2 miles southwest of Windjammer, was drilled in water depths of 1,584 metres to a TD of 5,145 metres. The discovery well encountered 127 metres of net natural gas pay. The Lagosta well encountered 167 metres of net natural gas pay.
The Tubarao well encountered 34 metres of net natural gas pay. The well was drilled in water depths of 898 metres, to a TD of 4,237 metres. Gas discovery reserves stand at between 8-10 Tcf.
If most of the production from the Properidade Complex is designed to be operated subsea, it will also require a floating unit to support the gas compression facilities to export the gas to the shore. The subsea wells should have a flow rate between 100 and 200 million cf/d of gas.
