The Tukau Timur field is located in Block SK307, offshore Sarawak, Malaysia and was drilled by Petronas in 2012 via the Tukau Timur Deep-1 well. The well, drilled to a depth of 15,847 feet (4,830 metres), discovered 12 gas bearing reservoirs with total net gas sand of 600 feet (183 metres). Preliminary assessments indicate the total gas-in-place for Tukau Timur Field to be about 2.1 tscf. Subsequent work will commence to estimate the range of recoverable resource volumes. Petronas aims to increase gas production offshore Sarawak to ensure that its LNG supplies to its customers in Japan, South Korea and China remains consistent. The field is operated by PETRONAS Carigali (50%) with Sarawak Shell Berhad (50%) as partners. The main well was spudded in May 2012 and was completed in November 2012.
