The block is found in the Lower Congo Basin, in shallow water adjacent to the coast, with water depths ranging up to 361ft (110m) and covers approximately 1,400 sq km. The exploration to date has resulted in four oil discoveries; the largest has initial recoverable reserves estimated to be in the 30-60m bbl range. 2P reserves on the block are currently put at 170m bbl.
The Lideka East Marine prospect is located in license Marine XI offshore Congo. The main target is in the post-salt Sendji formation. Mean recoverable resources have been estimated at 70MMbbls of oil. Well LDKEM-1 was sud on July 20, 2013 by Transocean\'s Falcon 100 (mid-water semisub). Drilling is expected to take 30 to 35 days.
