The Orange Basin Deep Water Licence Area (OBDWLA) is situated offshore of the West Coast of South Africa. The block’s southern edge is approximately in line with the town of Saldahna Bay (33°S) and the northern edge just south of Kleinzee (30°S). It borders with Namibian waters at its northern extent. At its closest point the block is located approximately 150km offshore and at its furthest approximately 350km offshore. The nearest coastal settlements to the licence block include Langebaan, Saldanha, Elands Bay, Klienzee and Port Nolloth.
