Block D spans over 3,421 square miles (5,506 square kilometres) and was awarded to China Petrotech Holding Limited in 2006. One appraisal well was planned in 2008. Mirach Energy owns a 48% effective stake in the block, with China Petrotech Holding Limited holding the remaining 52%. The PSC grant us rights for 7 years exploration and 30 years production development. Block D is located in the northeast of the Khmer basin in Thailand Gulf in Cambodia, 150 sea miles to the Sihanoukville. The average water depth is 70 metres. Mirach Energy is the main operator of the block. Mirach Energy, through its associate company CPHL (Cambodia) has signed a drilling environmental impact assessment (EIA) contract with two environmental consulting firms. The firms, the International Environmental Management Company Limited and SAWAC Consultants For Development Company Limited, will work jointly and issue an EIA report, required for drilling to commence offshore Cambodia oil field Block D. Assessment starts in October 2012 and is expected to be done in about six months.

PST Service Corporation (PST) and Chengdu Western Union Petro Engineering Technology Co. Ltd (UP) (subsidiaries of Shenzhen-listed Landocean Energy Services): Project Cooperation Agreement for Cambodia Offshore Block D with two subsidiaries of Shenzhen-listed Landocean Energy Services. After initial evaluation of BLOCK D, the companies agreed to partner with and share the exploration risks of BLOCK D with CPHLC to provide an integrated technical services solution in the drilling of three exploratory wells at Block D. The three wells will be drilled in a 1+2 plan, which means drilling the first well before refining the plan and location for the subsequent two wells.
