The Diefu LNG Import Terminal project is located in Diefu Road at the foot of Diefu Mountain on the west coast of Dapeng Peninsula in Shenzhen, with a total investment of about US$198.66 million and an expected LNG capacity of 4 million tons per year after completion. In 2012, The National Development and Reform Commission approved construction of the terminal. The Diefu LNG project is a LNG terminal engineering primarily invested by CNOOC Gas & Power Group, mainly including the storage tank facilities engineering, the gasification process unit engineering, the engineering of loading and discharging berth for LNG vessels with capacities ranging from 80,000 to 266,000 m3 and the water intake and outlet engineering of the terminal station. Diefu project was targeted to start operation in 2015 aiming to supply near-by markets in Shenzhen, with end users likely to include town gas facilities, power utilities and vehicles.
The storage tank facilities engineering, i.e. the four 160,000 m3 full containment LNG storage tanks, is the EPC project (known as “turnkey project”) implemented by the combo of TGE and Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd. TGE is responsible for the basic design and detailed designs of the body and base of the storage tank, basic design of the pipeline, steel structure, instrument control and all that outside the tanks, purchase and delivery of all imported materials and equipment, and management of site joint construction.
