Chevron’s concession for West Pakarang field in the Gulf of Thailand will cover 118.1 square km, with expected gas reserves of about 100,000 million cubic feet as well as 8.97 million barrels of crude and condensate. The production is scheduled to begin in 2015, to pump about 4,300 barrels of crude per day and 59 million cubic feet per day (mcfpd). Chevron expects to invest about US$605 million (Bt19 billion) in the project and reap 43% from the investment. Thailand stands to benefit about US$320 million (Bt10.2 billion) from this project or 57%.
