The project will see the construction of a two train LNG liquefaction plant. When the project is complete, it will process two billion cubic feet of gas per day as well as produce 12.8 million metric tonnes of LNG for export. The project will also supply 500 million standard cubic feet of gas per day for local consumption. The project will also produce 30,000 b/d of LPG and about 15,000 b/d of condensates.
The Olokola LNG project was initiated in 2005. It is located between Ogun and OndoStates. The MoU and shareholders agreement were signed in 2005 and 2007 respectively, FID was taken in 2007, and first production was expected two years later but nothing concrete on the project has been seen since then.
