ExxonMobil is currently developing Block 15. There have been two successful wells drilled so far: Kakocha was drilled by Ocean Rig’s Leiv Eiriksson semisub in 3,379ft (1,030m) of water and flowed at 4,500 b/d. The Tchihumba was drilled by the Atwood Eagle in 3,904ft (1,190m) of water and flowed at 7,470 b/d. The deepwater fields to be targeted for this development are Bavuca, Clochas, Mavacola, Tchihumba, Kakocha, Reco Reco, Vicango and Mbulumbumba. The water depth of the prospects, range from 1,094m at Vicango to over 2,000m at Tchichumba, Kakocha and Mbulumbumba. BP started oil production from the Kizomba Satellites phase 2 development in Block 15, offshore Angola. Operated by ExxonMobil, the deepwater project is expected to produce around 70,000 barrels of oil per day at peak.
