Project Profile

Value: Undisclosed
Location: Tal Block, Kohat Plateau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Production: 28 MMscf gas and 1,545 bpd condensate (Mamikhel 1, 2012)

Tal block is located in the Kohat Plateau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. So far, nine discoveries have been made in the block, the first in 2002 and the most recent in 2016. Commercial production has commenced from the Manzalai and Makori fields. Mamikhel and Maramzai discoveries are currently being evaluated through Extended Well Testing (EWT). Discovery over the Mamikhel structure of Tal block was made in June 2007 through discovery well Mamikhel 1. The discovery well is connected to the Manzalai Central Processing Facility to appraise the field’s production potential through EWT.

Mamikhel 1 was contributing about 28 MMscf gas and 1,545 bpd condensate as of 2012. The TAL block now contributes around 511 tonnes of LPG, 21,200 bpd of oil, plus 290 mmscfd of gas.

In June 2016, MOL struck pay with two consecutive holes drilled in the Tal Block at Makori Deep and Tolanj West . Makori Deep flowed at 2,020 bpd of crude plus 5.4 mcf per day of gas, with a flowing well head pressure of 1,177 psi. Tolanj West flowed at 2,300 boepd (13.1 mmscf/d) at a total depth of 4,941 metres. The operator of the field is MOL with partners including PPL, OGDCL, GHPL and POL. The development and production lease was granted for 25 years.
