Project Profile

Value: Undisclosed
Location: Middle Indus Basin of Pakistan
Production: 75,000,000 Cubic Feet
Start-up Year: May 1995

Lasmo discovered the Kadanwari gas field with the Kadanwari-1 well in 1989. The Kadanwari Gas Field, located in the Middle Indus Basin of Pakistan has a current gas output per day around 75,000,000 Cubic Feet. The field was brought onstream in May 1995. Premier Oil acquired an initial interest in 1996. The gas is processed in a central processing facility, originally designed for gas sales capacity of 175 mmcfd, later expanded to 232 mmcfd. The processing facility is shared with the Miano and Latif fields operated by OMV to the north.

In 2006, the K-15 well was tied back to the processing plant, which compensated for the natural decline of the field and also provided some production redundancy. Contributing to future deliverability of the Kadanwari gas field is the exploration well K-27, which exceeded expectations and tested at 51 mmcfd in April 2011. In addition, the K-28 well on Kadanwari was successfully drilled in December 2011. More recently, in March 2012, the K-30 exploration well was successfully drilled and tested gas with a flow rate of 52 mmscfd. The well will be tied into production facility during 2012. The partners in the Kadanwari field include ENI (operator), Premier Oil, OGDCL and KUFPEC.
