The project saw the launch of a diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertiliser in Morocco, situated at the Jorf Lasfar Port for accessible exports.

In November 2013, OCP Group announced the largest cargo of DAP fertilisers in its history had been dispatched from the Jorf Lasfar Port, with 79,000 tonnes of Diammonium Phosphate destined for Chinese partner SinoChem. The same year, Jorf Lasfar marked the launch of its 1 million tonne DAP fertiliser granulation unit, worth an overall investment of 2.5 billion dirhams. OCP Group said the unit was bolster its fertiliser production capacity from 4.3 million tonnes to nearly 7 million tonnes.

OCP Group’s DAP product is sold in bags of 50 kg with a bulk density of 1.02. The granulated product carries a PH of 7.5 and is coloured light brown or brown and black. It is composed of 18% nitrogen, and 46% Phosphorous.
